It began with words.
Before I was a mother, before I was designing jewellery that carried entire families, I was simply someone who loved poetry. I collected quotes. I underlined lyrics. I was drawn to words that made me feel something and inspired me.
My first professional workbench was hidden under the stairs. It was cramped and slightly chaotic, but it was mine. That is where I began experimenting with jewellery, trying to find my signature style, long before personalised jewellery became what it is today.
Back then, the only personalised piece most people recognised was the name necklace from Sex and the City. The idea of stamping meaningful words into solid silver and gold felt new and deeply personal. I was trying to find my signature style, and what kept pulling me back was storytelling through metal.
Then I became a mother, and everything shifted.
When my boys were born, personalised jewellery stopped being about the words that inspired me and became about their lives. Their names. Their birth dates. Their tiny weights. Their birthstones.
I remember the first time I wore all of us together on one necklace. It felt grounding. Protective. Like carrying my whole world close to my heart.

And then there was Roo’s unforgettable declaration: "I love you like Shaggy loves Scooby with big heart eyes", out of the mouths of babes.
That sentence said everything. Pure, wholehearted, uncomplicated love. The kind we spend our whole lives trying to articulate properly as adults.
