We love every single one and as we hand stamp each word we feel very much feel part of your stories.

But we also know it can be hard to find the right words for your personalisations, so we have created a list of ideas to help remove writers' block and inspire the tongue-tied.

1. Nicknames.

They are usually embarrassing (anyone remember Golden Balls?) but most of us have them. Family nicknames are popular or cutesy names we give our partners are one of our customer's favourite ways to personalise pieces. We have seen them all from the cuddly “Babybean” to the more leftfield “Fire Starter”. If you would rather keep it just between yourselves conceal it in a locket or the inside of a ring!

2. Make them laugh.

It doesn’t have to be traditionally romantic to be affectionate. One of Posh Totty’s favourite personalisation was an engagement ring that just said: “You’ll do . ..”

3. Keep it short and sweet

Sometimes simple is best ‘You and Me’ ‘Forever’ or the original 3 magic words.

4. Mark meaningful dates.

When you met. How long you have been together. The date of your very first date (can you remember?). Their birthday. Or depict the birthdates of your children or loved ones using their natural birthstones.

5. Be Poetic

Sometimes it’s best to leave it to the experts. “–you are my sun, my moon, and all my stars” EE Cummings poem or “If I know what love is, it is because of you” Hermann Hesse

6. Remember special places.

The coordinates of where you met?  All the places you travelled together before kids and responsibilities cam along? Your favourite places wherever that may be – where they proposed? got married? or simply ‘me, you and the sofa’.   

7. Say it in a song.

Maybe it’s ‘your song’ . Or a title ‘Just the way you are’ (Bruno Mars) or a lyric that sums it up “All your perfect imperfections” (John Legend) “We found love right where we are” (Ed Sheeran)

8. Powerful Words

We all have words or phrases that mean something to us and help spur us on in our time of need. It can be anything from reminding yourself (or a loved one) how strong you (or they) are or a little trigger word like ‘breath’ which helps you to not sweat the small stuff.

9. Oodles of Doodles
