From Russia, With Love...

Working at Posh Totty Designs means we are lucky enough to be the middle ladies (and men!) between many dedications of love. One dedication that constantly delivers is the Russian Ring necklace. As wedding season approaches and in celebration of love, let's delve into the meaning behind the Russian Ring pendant... The first thing that springs to mind is the traditional Russian wedding ring. I read a beautiful story (courtesy of Cyril's musings) about a mixed gold Russian wedding ring which each of the golds represent something different and special. To sum up,  the three rings symbolise the meaning of love as they bring together the three most important things of a loving relationship. Profound! The 925 sterling silver Russian ring necklace with three to five rings. Click on the image to personalise yours. In the story, the white gold ring  (the softer of the golds) takes the shape of the finger. "Like love...In the journey through life, two people in love have to change their shape. They have to give some things up, and take other things on. To become a family each one has to move towards the other. So that's what the white gold represents, the bending towards each other". "The yellow gold ring on the other hand, is very hard. You can bump it and knock it, and afterwards, all you had to do is to give it a hard rub, and there it would be, all bright and shining again". "Life is like this, it's not easy so you have to support each other. Sometimes love has to be hard. So this is what the yellow gold represents, the strength to get through life, and then come out on the other side all bright and shiny and new". And the rose gold ring, "red gold is rare. And love is just as rare. When you find it, when you finally have it, you must look after it and protect it". "And that is what the rose gold represents, that love must be cherished." We simply had to share this story with all you lovebirds or singletons looking for love out there. Love really is the real deal. So take a leaf from Cyril's Mother's book and cherish it lovelies. (Ahem, note to self following a row over...well almost nothing.) Personalised 9ct Gold Eternity Diamond Necklace In other versions, the Russian ring also symbolises eternal love. Or The Holy Trinity (also known as the Trinity ring); a Christian symbol for The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit or "Faith, Hope, Love". Whichever belief touches you, the Russian ring is an eternal, interconnecting symbol we feel privileged to continuously develop in our range.
