What are Dinky Story Charms?

The Dinky Story Charms are personalised flat charms from Posh Totty Designs - crafted entirely for you. You tell us your story (it could be a beloved pet, a favourite hobby, a memorable trip, a symbol of love or adventure) and the team of professional jewellers design and create a charm that represents that.

How does the process work?

1. You share your idea of how you want your charm(s) to look.
2. The creative team at Posh Totty Designs then turns your idea into a bespoke design.
3. The charm is laser cut in sterling silver or gold - “your charm, your way.”

What materials are used for these charms?

The Dinky Story Charms are crafted in either solid high-quality sterling silver or with a 18ct yellow gold plated finish (depending on your choice).

Can I combine multiple charms to tell a story?

Yes you can wear a single charm on its own, or combine multiple charms on a necklace, bracelet or hoops.

How long will it take to make my charm?

Delivery from order is up to 4-5 Days

Will I see a design or proof before my charm is made?

We don’t send design proofs before crafting, it’s all part of the magic! Our jewellers create your charm based on the story or idea you share, using the same style and quality as the examples you see on our website.

Every piece is unique, but browsing our charm gallery is a great way to get a feel for the final look.

What if I have an idea that I’m not sure can be made into a charm?

Can I return or exchange a bespoke charm?

As bespoke / custom items are made to order, typically they are non‑returnable unless defective or incorrect.

How do I clean a sterling silver necklace at home?

The safest way to clean a sterling silver necklace at home is with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth to gently remove dirt and help reduce tarnish.

To clean your necklace:

1. Create a gentle solution - Mix a few drops of mild washing-up liquid with warm (not hot) water.
   
2. Soak and clean - Leave your necklace in the solution for 10–15 minutes, then gently clean with a soft toothbrush or cloth, especially around clasps and fine details.
   
3. Rinse and dry - Rinse thoroughly under clean water and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Allow it to air dry completely before wearing or storing.

Sterling silver may naturally develop a light tarnish over time, but this can easily be refreshed with a specialist silver polishing cloth to restore its shine.

Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish or any personalised details.
