Santa Stop Here

Back in September, we made like Wizard when we donned our best tinsel and gathered around the Christmas tree, all in the name of Rockinghorse Children's Charity!

Before you write us off as far too eager for Christmas, let us assure you that we're not that mad. We were one of nine local businesses that pooled our vocal skills to record 'Santa Stop Here', a charity single penned by the talented Katie at Pier Recruitment, all in aid of raising funds for our partner charity Rockinghorse.

A fellow partner to Rockinghorse Children's Charity, Katie from Pier had the idea to write, record and launch a Band Aid-style music single for the chairty in November 2016. One year later, her idea is a reality - and boy, did we have fun being involved in this project, for such an amazing cause.

NRB's Mike made us feel very at home during our session (thanks, Mike!). None of us had ever been recorded in a studio before, so we weren't sure what to expect - or if we were going to be good enough to make the final mix!

It turns out, we weren't bad... But credit definitely goes to the voice-of-an-angel Melissa Hubert who coached us through the session and made sure we were good and warmed up before Mike hit the record button. 

Since the session, we've been on the edge of our seat with anticipation to hear the fully produced and mastered song, and to see the accompanying video that HUGA made to go with the track. Most of all, though, we've been so keen to see the fundraising kick off from this single...

... So this week, we Pier Recruitment invited us to The Grand Hotel Brighton for the big reveal! We joined scores of other Brighton & Hove businesses in the resplendent Albert Suite to enjoy fizz, nibbles - and of course the first ever screening of the 'Santa Stop Here' song and video. We weren't sure if it was terror or excitement we were feeling...

(We couldn't resist one of Amber and Alice, who both partook in the song, in front of the The Grand Hotel's amazing Christmas tree! Festive feelings were definitely running high.)

So far, the campaign around the song has raised £5,885 for Rockinghorse, and numbers continue to rise with text message pledges  (see below on how to donate via text).
