What We’ve Loved...

The Children’s Parade

Our founder, Alice, spent 3 months making and coordinating her son's school parade costumes for the Children’s Parade. Kicking off The Brighton Festival, schools across Sussex take part in a fabulously creative parade through the streets of Brighton. This years theme was 'Folk Tales From Around The World'. The procession was a wonderful spectacle of colour and energy! You can view more images here .

St. Luke’s Prestonville

Alice loved St. Luke’s Prestonville House which featured a paper mâché 'The Passion of Chris't scene by David Carter. What I loved most was his utter passion for his hobby. None of the characters were for sale, he simply made the miniature scenes for pleasure after his wife asked him to make a nativity scene a few years back. He explained that once he started making, he just couldn't stop. He was so lovely, he even took the time to explain all the individual scenes and stories to us. My favourite was the scene of Mary where she had a pregnancy test next to her bed having just found out she was pregnant! It was the best contemporary & humorous interpretation of the bible I've ever seen! I feel it should have its very own spot in a museum!

Museum of the Moon

When a giant Moon popped up over the pond in Queens Park, Brighton, the Posh Totty Designs jewellers went to investigate. The Museum of the Moon is a touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram. The seven-meter spherical moon was suspended over the water with a musical composition featuring recordings from the Moon Landing and atmospheric sounds. “We loved the peaceful vibe that captured the entire park, there was a real sense of community and peace to the evening.”

Don’t worry if you missed out this time, the Museum of the Moon is on tour.

CHORES

A great one for kids, CHORES was an interactive story of two typical young boys playing in their messy bedroom. With a smidge of audience participation, Alice’s two boys loved the exploding toilet paper guns!

What We're Hoping To See.

The Upside Down House

Another quirky addition to Brighton for the month of May is the Upside Down House, situated just left of the i360 on the seafront. First seen in Bournemouth, the Upside Down House is a great photo opportunity to confuse your friends with pictures of you walking on the brightly coloured ceilings and walls upside down!

The house is open everyday, and costs £4/5 for adults, and kids go free.

Find out more Joe Black: DECOPUNK

Our Marketing Coordinator, Jade, has tickets to see the fabulous Joe Black at Spiegeltent to see his new show Decopunk.  “I saw Joe Black last year and LOVED it. When I saw him on the line-up for this year with a different show, I knew I had to go! I love his creativity and that he draws inspiration from the past for his looks.

Artist Open Houses

Open Houses is where it all began for Posh Totty Designs on Upper Gardner Street and Queens Gardens. MD Alice spent three years selling her personalised jewellery through the summer Open Houses, it was here she saw first hand that people really relished what she was doing with jewellery and personalisation.  We recommend spending a whole day wandering through the residential areas of Brighton, looking out for signs in windows or stencils on pavements letting you know where the next Open House is here

Fringe Club: Silent Disco

Take a leaf out of MD Alices book and head down to The Warren for some Silent Disco fun! Sing like no-ones listening (because they’re not), dance like no-ones watching, and make sure to try the Mac’n’Cheese at The Warren too. A great way to end a fun month. Silent Disco is on every night until the end of The Fringe,
