A few of our Russian Ring inspired designs But what is the significance of the Russian Ring? Some say it's rooted in ancient symbolic tradition, and represented the Holy Trinity within the Christian faith. Traditionally, the design is made from a ring of each coloured gold - yellow, rose and white - and is worn as a wedding band. While it's been developed over the years and can be worn in all kinds of ways, we love the meaning behind the mixed gold design. Here's something we adapted from a beautiful story we hear about the history of the Russian Ring... White gold is softer than the other two colours and will take the shape of the finger. This represents 'pure love' because in the journey through life, two people in love have to change and adapt. Some things they'll need to sacrifice or give up; and there'll be other things they'll need to take on. In order to become and grow as a family, each individual needs to move toward the other - the white gold symbolises two people 'bending towards each other'. Then we have yellow gold, which is very hard. It can withstand a fair amount of bumps and knocks: it polishes up spectacularly after a good rub. The yellow gold represents how life isn't always easy - in fact at times it can be very difficult. This is when people really have to support each other - sometimes love is hard. This gold symbolises the strength it takes to get through harder times in life, only to come out the other end all bright, shiny and ready to carry on. Then there's rose gold. Rose gold is the rarest colour gold - and so is pure love rare. When you finally find it, it must be cherished and nurtured. If you lose it, you may never see it again. Rose gold symbolises that you must look after love, because like is short and every moment spent without love is a moment lost forever.     Which one of our interwined Russian Ring designs is your favourite? Tag us on Instagram in your PTD Russian Ring pics!
