Introducing: Posh Tots!

While Posh Totty Designs was in its own infancy, founder Alice Rivers-Cripps techincally had three children: her business and her two baby sons. When PTD outgrew its home-base, kitchen table status in 2006 and opened up in Brighton's tiniest shop in the North Laine, Alice juggled new motherhood for the first time with her eldest, and by the time her second son was born, she was a pro and the mum-in-business thing. 

But while she was busy designing jewellery and nailing the role of businesswoman, she was also rapidly learning what motherhood was all about. One thing that struck Alice was a distinct lack in the availability of traditional, handmade toys. Keen to instill a sense of tradition and an appreciation for timeless, artisan toys and accessories in her baby sons, she struggled to find anything that really fit the bill. Always proactive and lateral in her approach, Alice had an idea: why not launch a kids range on Posh Totty Designs?

But what started out as a little corner of Posh Totty Designs has grown over the years. Today, we stock hundreds of products especially for kids, largely inspired by Scandi design and with function, practicality and fun in mind. And this summer, we re-launced the tiny shop (yes, the tiniest shop in Brighton is still very much part of the Posh Totty Designs family!) as a place exclusively for tiny people!

We opened Posh Tots earlier in the summer to coincide with the school holidays. And now we're midway through, why not bring your little ones for a mooch around? 

Kids who visit the shop love the astroturf staircase - just as much as the in-store hopscotch...

The shop is packed full of gorgeous kid-tastic things like classic storybooks, personalised stationery, colourful lunch packs and storage cases, bedroom accessories, lights, cuddlies and games from the likes of brands such as OYOY, Suzy Ultman and Tellkiddo. Browse the full range HERE.

To celebrate the launch of Posh Tots this holilday, our gorgeous friend Hannah over at the awesome blog Make, Do & Push wrote a post about the process behind her Personalised My Favourite Drawing Oval Disc Necklace. Hannah elisted the artistic abilities of her daughter, Busby, to draw her a picture which we would eventually turn into one of our adorable necklaces. Here's one of Hannah's pics of Busby hard at work...

And the finished design? A cute little flower engraved onto the oval - Hannah opted for rose gold plate. Oh, and there's Busby modelling it as well. Click HERE to read Hannah's post.
